Ritual
Anoint candles with Frankincense oil
Purify space with Sage smudge
Light Sandalwood incense
Ground and center
Cast Circle with Wand
As I walk this circle round, I cast a sacred sphere,
A place to work my will within, and call the Goddess near.
Around, around, around I go, I walk the circle round times three.
The circle is cast, the circle is cast! Blessed be, so mote it be!
Call Quarters
Light the appropriate chime candle as you call each element [yellow, then red, then blue, then green].
I call upon the Sylphs, spirits of Air, the essence of intelligence, liberating and
stimulating, to come from the East to guard this circle.
I call upon the Salamanders, spirits of Fire, essence of strength and defense,
animating and activating, to come from the South to guard this circle.
I call upon the Undines, spirits of Water, essence of emotions and abundance,
malleable and flexible, to come from the West to guard this circle.
I call upon the Gnomes, spirits of Earth, essence of fertility and solidarity,
nourishing, binding and giving of form, to come from the North to guard this circle.
Call Spirit
I call upon the Akasha, the essence of Spirit itself,
to come from the center of the All, to join in this circle.
Light the white Spirit chime candle
Call Goddess
I call upon the Goddess, the Great One who gives all and loves all and Is All,
to come and join in this circle.
Light the silver Goddess chime candle
Give Thanks
Goddess I call to you, to give you thanks.
All that I am and all that I have has come from thee.
I strive to be One with you, Mother of All!
Blessed be, so mote it be!
Intent
The intent of this ritual is to celebrate Lammas
and the blessings of the First Harvest
Body of Ritual
Light the yellow intent candle.
Stand before the altar, holding aloft the plate of vegetables and fruit and say:
Blessed be this season of Lammas, time of the First Harvest, when the bounties of
nature give of themselves so that we may survive. Oh Great Goddess, bless this
harvest. Oh Goddess of the ripening fields, Lady of the Grain, who give sustenance
to the people, grant me the understanding of sacrifice as You prepare to deliver
Your bounty under the sickle. Oh Goddess of the Moon, teach me the secrets of
rebirth as the Sun loses its strength and the nights grow cold.
Light the orange intent candle.
Lift a piece of fruit and bite it, savoring its flavor and say:
I partake of the first harvest, mixing its energies with mine that I may continue my
quest for the starry wisdom of perfection. Oh Lady of the Moon, gracious one before
Whom the stars halt their courses, I offer my thanks for the continuing fertility of
the Earth. May the nodding grain loose its seeds to be buried in the Mother's
breast, ensuring rebirth in the warmth of the coming Spring.
Light the green intent candle.
Take the bread from the altar and say:
Many blessings I have been given, I count them now by this bread of the grain of
Mother Earth.
Name some of the things you are thankful for one by one.
With each thing you name, break off a small piece of bread and eat it.
Place the bread aside so that it can be placed outside as an offering to the faeries and animals.
Thank you Great Mother. May I never hunger!
I boldly ask that You accept my offering of this bread. May it be used to feed Your
loved ones in nature.
Consume the rest of the fruit now or after circle. Reflect on the gifts and the harvests in your life.
Take up the Chalice, and say:
Goddess, Mother of All, bless this beverage of which I am about to partake.
May I never thirst!
Drink from the chalice.
Save some of the beverage to pour out on the ground as a libation after ritual.
Thank and Release Goddess
Thank You Goddess for Your presence which to me is so dear.
Stay if You will, go if You must, You are always welcome here!
Extinguish Goddess candle
Release Spirit and the Quarters
Thank you, Akasha, essence of Spirit, for your presence here! Go in peace and
farewell until we meet again.
Thank you, Sylphs of the East, for your presence here! Go in peace and farewell
until we meet again.
Thank you, Salamanders of the South, for your presence here! Go in peace and
farewell until we meet again.
Thank you, Undines of the West, for your presence here! Go in peace and farewell
until we meet again.
Thank you, Gnomes of the North, for your presence here! Go in peace and farewell
until we meet again.
Extinguish corresponding chime candles in turn.
Take up Circle
I take back up the energy,
I used to put the circle down,
Back into me and thus into the Mother,
As I walk the circle round.
While the circle lingers still
It is open yet unbroken,
Blessed be, so mote it be,
It is as I have spoken.
An' it harm none, this ritual is done!
Remember to ground ‐ This is important!!!
Allow intent candles to burn out safely
Place remainder of bread outside for the fairies and animals and pour out the remainder of the beverage in the chalice

Many times we or our loved ones suffer from bad dreams, nightmares or even night terrors. They can affect us in many ways, such as not getting enough sleep, carrying anxiety throughout the day, or not wanting to fall asleep.
Bad Dreams
Bad dreams are just that. They make us uncomfortable and may cause anxiety or fear, and may wake us from sleep. Nightmares take that up a notch, to great fear or terror, while asleep, possibly waking us. In the case of both bad dreams and nightmares, these feelings may linger after waking but do generally dissipate after a bit. Nevertheless, they do make us uncomfortable or uneasy. We may wake with these feelings without remembering any dream, but it is probably a dream that produced these feelings.
Night Terrors
Night terrors are different. This is great fear that descends on you upon waking. There may or may not have been a dream associated with it.
Smudging
I would advise smudging the home and especially the rooms where these things are occurring. I like to start at the uppermost level, smudging each room in a clockwise fashion, then going down to the next level and doing the same until on the main floor. If there is a basement, go into the basement next, and smudge in a clockwise manner. Then come up to the main level and do it also in a clockwise manner. Opening a window and/or door on the main level will help in pushing the bad energy out of the house. When smudging you are removing negative energy. While you are pushing the bad energy out of each room with the smudge, you must replace that negative energy with something else. If you don't, Nature will do it for you and it may not be something that you desire. So while smudging, state something along the lines of, "Everything foul and evil must go, replaced by love and positive energy." Replacing what you remove is VERY IMPORTANT because Nature abhors a vacuum and will fill it with whatever is handy if you do not fill it yourself.
Holy Water
While smudging, you can have another person following along blessing with Holy Water. Simply take water ‐ if possible from a natural source such as a stream or a lake ‐ about a cup or two, and mix with it some salt, about three good pinches. Then carry the water through the house behind the smudger, sprinkling the mixture as you go. You can sprinkle with fingers, or use a small piece of pine with needles on it to asperge, or sprinkle, the Holy Water.
Remedies
The following two remedies, the oil and the medicine bag, will help with both bad dreams/nightmares and night terrors, in adults and in children.

Pearl Harbor is located on the island of Oahu, "The Gathering Place". It lies at the end of a long valley formed by the Ko'olau and Waianae mountain ranges. Hawaiians call it Pu'uloa, meaning "long hill". It is also known as Wai Momi, "water of pearl" for its abundance of oysters and pearls.
Europeans arrived in 1778, bringing disease that decimated the indigenous populations. Avarice for pearls led to overfishing of the oyster beds. Americans soon arrived on the islands, building plantations and, eventually, usurping the powers of local government and rewriting laws favouring the rich plantation owners. In 1887, the U.S. Navy established a naval base at Pearl Harbor and six years later, the reigning monarch, queen Lili'uokalani was overthrown. The Republic of Hawaii was created and, in 1898, it became a Territory of the United States. In 1959, Hawaii achieved statehood.
In 1914, the Navy built a dry dock in the harbor, despite warnings from the indigenous people that it was built over the home of shark guardians of the harbor and doomed to failure. It collapsed soon after its completion. A Kahuna was consulted prior to reconstruction, propitiations were offered to appease, Ka'ahupahau. A floating dock was completed successfully and the naval base remains to this day. Pearl Harbor is perhaps most famously known for the military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service on December 7, 1941.
The harbor has been protected for millennia. Young sharks were trained to be friendly to humans and considered part of the family. The sharks were hand fed, petted and would also have the barnacles scraped from their backs. The sharks became loyal to those who took care of them, driving fish into the family nets, or chasing away predators if someone accidently fell into the waters. Some sharks were believed to be family members who had passed away, or were aumakua, the family guardian.
Hawaiian legends state that Pu'uloa was the home of the ancestral shark Goddess, Ka'ahupahau ‐ "Well‐cared for Feather Cloak" (a symbol of royalty). The Queen of the Sharks protects and helps fishermen in the waters off Oahu. She lives in an underground cave in the West Loch, guarding the entrance to Pearl Harbor from man‐eating sharks. Some believe it was Her displeasure that caused the destruction of the original dock in 1914.
Pearl Harbor is a fascinating place to visit when in Oahu. Take a moment to pay your respects to those who lost their lives protecting us, and don't forget to leave an offering for Ka'ahupahau, to ensure that protection continues.

I dreamed once again, that you were in my arms.
So long ago, and it was like yesterday…
I kissed again your sensuous lips, and laughed
To hear you murmur against mine.
I hear the music that we danced to, humming
Sweetly in my ears. You look into my eyes
With such love and softly smooth my hair back,
While I kiss your hand.
I wish sometimes to sleep forever, let time carry
Me along in slumber until that final rest.
For you are with me in the evenings, with me
And loving, as you used to be.
I do not want to face the present, empty nights
Without you in my bed; and have to wonder
With such aching sadness, where you have gone.
Did you love me, or did you lie, and lie again?
In dream times you are with me, sliding gently
Into love's rhythm; dancing together, or
Walking through the scented gardens of our
Past. In those times we are always young,
And I am beautiful again, I see it in your eyes.
Slender, before childbearing, age, and sorrow
Thickened my waist and etched lines that
Were not there before.
Forever young, forever desirable, and forever
Your love. If only for that time, my heart
Rejoices. Then I must once again descend
The stairs, and walk back through life's doorway
Into the present world.

Goddess blessings for you,
The peace and hope that She brings.
She reaches across any time and space,
And Her love never falters or changes.
She cradles you in Her arms,
Her hand in blessing is laid upon your head.
When you are feeling alone and despairing,
Or needful of unconditional love
She reminds you that you are Her child
And She is always with you.
Rejoice! For Her love that is stronger
Than the worlds of Spirit or Mankind.

We rejoice in the Earth's good bounty,
First of harvest festivals three,
Corn and wheat are coming in,
Fruit of vine and fruit of tree.
Thor's wife Sif had golden hair,
Until that Loki's cutting spate.
The dwarves spun new hair for the lady,
And Loki then escaped his fate.
Harvest the grain by waning moon,
Dig the potato and cut the peat,
Now is time to celebrate,
Drink the wine, good things eat!
Winter still a good ways off,
Life is easy, life is good.
Gifts of gloves are tradition,
Hold the games in honor of Lugh.
Wean the calves, first fruits are ripe,
Enjoy them now while there is plenty,
Dog days of summer are upon us,
Love the life the Goddess sent thee.
Get the baskets and Boline,
Lammas is upon us now,
Fall is coming surely by,
Time to put away the plow.
Summer still, but first of harvest,
Coming in for us to taste,
Lammas, also Lughnasadh,
Has come upon us with much haste!

Harvest time is now in full swing,
Boughs bend down with apples sweet.
Gardens given up their bounty,
Grapes for wine and pears to eat.
Cucumbers and peppers picked,
Tomato harvest now is done.
Fall is hear and winter nearer,
With the waning of the sun.
Light and dark equate again,
Autumn Equinox is here!
Hospitality, forgiveness
Share the food and mead and beer.
Settle your accounts and debts,
Burn tobacco, cedar, hops.
Honor passed as pass the gravesite,
Look out for the great Cyclops!
Grapes and acorns, nuts and wheat,
Dogs and wolves and birds of prey,
The harvest and the aging Gods
Are symbols of this special day.
God prepares now to depart,
And grow from weakness to be strong
Nestled in the Goddess' womb,
The days grow short, the nights grow long.
We celebrate the second harvest,
Cold, long winter closer now,
Put away what will be needed
Until it's time to pull the plow.
Prepare ye now for time to come.
Winter's cold and soup be thin.
Weave for warmth and can the goods,
For 'til the Sun is high again.

Lammas comes from the Old English phrase "hlaf‐maesse" or "loaf mass". Its focus is on the first harvests of Summer, most notably, the grain harvest. Our ancestors celebrated the crops, knowing that a successful harvest would see them through the long dark months to come. Baking bread is a wonderful way to celebrate the First Harvest. For those who experience health issues with gluten or wheat, recipes can be updated to suit dietary needs, while maintaining the ritual aspects of ancient traditions. Below are two tasty gluten‐free, wheat‐free breads you can enjoy in your Lammas feast.
Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine egg whites, vinegar and a pinch of salt. Using electric beaters, whip until stiff peaks are formed. Set aside.
Place the yolks, cashews, salt and baking soda in a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a large bowl.
Fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture, a little at a time. As you are doing so, think about what qualities you wish to take in, what you wish to harvest, or what you are thankful for. Visualize this energy pouring into the mixture.
Place round, palm‐sized dollops of the mixture onto the baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy your bread in a ritual feast, knowing that, as you eat, you are taking into yourself the properties imbued within the bread.

Ingredients
Topping
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk two eggs together in a small bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and coconut oil. Stir until blended. Add the eggs and mix well.
Add one tablespoon of coconut flour at a time. After each tablespoon, let the dough rest for a minute to allow the flour to be absorbed. Repeat until the dough can be easily kneaded.
Roll out the dough onto a flat surface covered with parchment paper.
Work the dough into the desired shapes, Goddess or God, plaits or twists. As you work, think about the sacrifices that have been made in order to reap this abundant harvest. Feel the gratitude in your heart as you place your intent into the bread.
Place each piece on the baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
Whisk the egg with a dash of water. Remove the breadsticks from the oven and brush with the egg wash and sprinkle with minced garlic, basil, onion powder and oregano. Return to the oven and bake for 4-5 minutes more, until golden.
Brush with olive oil before serving.

Mabon is a time to be thankful for all the things we have ‐‐ a garden full of crops to pick, full apple trees in the orchards, and the bread we've been baking with the grain already harvested. Although this is a time of balance, it's also a time to look at what you have and be grateful for it. Celebrate the abundance of the harvest season by inviting prosperity into your life. These simple candles can be given as gifts, burned on your altar, or placed around the house to bring abundance your way.
You'll need the following items on your workspace before you begin:
Using the stylus or pencil, inscribe your intent upon the candle. For example, if you need money to pay the bills, carve that on there. If you just want extra fun money, write that on the candle too. If you're not sure how much you need, you can use symbols of money such as the $ dollar sign or a runic symbol. In traditional runes, Fehu is the sign of prosperity.
Once you've completed your inscription, anoint the candle with the prosperity oil. Focus your intent into the candle, drawing abundance to you. Rub a small amount of the dried basil or sage ‐‐ all herbs connected with money ‐‐ into the oil. As you do, clearly visualize how you will be using the money that comes your way. Will you use it to pay off debt? Buy a new car? Take a class for personal growth?
Light the candle and meditate on the flame. Continue focusing on your intent, and imagine it building, first as a small spark, and then growing into a large ball of light. Maintain this image as long as you can, and then release it into the candle flame.
Chant: Prosperity, Come to me, As I will, So mote it BE!
