Oh Goddess of the Earth,
Goddess of the Moon.
Stay coronavirus spread,
Stay it to a stop and soon.
Many people are very sick,
Many people have died.
Everyone is very afraid
Of the COVID‐19 tide.
There are problems with supplies
Needed for protection.
Remove the obstacles from the path.
Bring help without objection.
We need a strong, united front.
Help from the top down.
Heal the virus, heal the fear
In every city and town.
Bring that top down help we need,
Give wisdom at the top.
Let be done what needs be done
That this pandemic STOP.
In the name of the Maiden,
The Mother,
And the Crone,
As I will so mote it be!

At Beltane, we honour Goddess as Virgin in the true sense of the word, "She Who is Whole Unto Herself". When we feel whole, we are no longer reliant on other people's opinions of us. We stand secure and confident in the knowledge that we are beautiful, created in Her image. Create rituals honouring the wondrous woman you are. Perform self‐blessings, be naked in front of a mirror, without judgment, and love the Temple where Goddess lives. Know and trust that you are whole unto yourself, a Goddess in your own right. Explore your body, your lover, your life, in a sensuous and sexual way. The Virgin is fearless, let Her guide you to glorious heights. For 'The Charge' states "all acts of love and pleasure are Her rituals", and there is no better time to honour the sensual nature of Goddess than at Beltane.
On Beltane eve, treat yourself like the Goddess you are. Take a long luxurious bath in scented water and anoint yourself with scented oils. Crown yourself with flowers and don your most precious jewellery. Wear colourful clothes, items that make you feel beautiful and regal. Indulge yourself with favourite foods.
Honour your sexual choices, view lovemaking as a spiritual practice. Recall the times when sex was magical, when you felt alluring or when you fell in love (with another person, or with yourself). Celebrate sex as a sacred activity and explore the depths of your sensuality. Light the fires of passion this evening and honour the Goddess within by sending Her to the heights of sexual delight.
Greet the dawn on May 1st and bathe in the morning dew. Feel the refreshing coolness caress your skin. As the fiery passion abates, offer a prayer of gratitude.

At Litha, we honour the transformation of the Maiden into Mother, fertile and ripe with abundance. The Earth is teeming with life, growth and potential. Celebrate this season with action. Manifest into reality the ideas you've dreamed about and nurtured through these many months. Create rituals that fire your passion and enhance creativity. Plants gathered on this night are said to have exceptional healing properties.
Although often referred to as the longest day, Litha is, in fact, the time of the longest twilight. This magickal time between day and night opens a gateway to the realm of the Fae. Fairies are spiritual beings who are always all around us, and their favourite places are in nature. In order to see them, we have to be willing to open our minds to the possibility that they are ever‐present, everywhere on Mother Earth. Once we open our minds and hearts, we may begin to see evidence of these magickal beings. Traditionally fairies were left pails of milk, cream, butter, cakes, and even wine. Spend time outdoors this evening, leave them a gift, and, if you are patient, you may catch a glimpse of the Dance of the Fae.
Litha marks the Summer Solstice, when the sun is at its peak, and the power of the Sun God is at its most potent. Hang a golden or yellow disc (to represent the sun) in a window, to catch the sun's rays. You can harness these powerful solar energies and use them in magickal workings that fire your passion and enhance creativity. Create a wreath of yellow flowers to honour the Sun. This day celebrates the Sun King in all his glory, a time of manifestation, of passion and success.
At this time, the Sun King, (God of Light, Oak King) faces the God of Shadow (Holly King) and is defeated. The Sun King has reached his peak and now relinquishes control of the year to the Dark God. This serves as a reminder to us all that life is cyclical, and that death makes life taste that much sweeter.

OWM is a global organization, with Sisters in countries around the world, including the Southern Hemisphere. The Wheel of the Year is reversed for our Southerly Sisters. To ensure we remain inclusive, we would like to share some information about the Holy Days that pertain specifically to them.
Samhain
At Samhain, the Goddess has entered her incarnation as Crone. She is Grandmother, Ancient Goddess, the Wise One we turn to for advice. Crone has many names: Baba Yaga, Cailleach, Grandmother Spider, Hekate, Morrígan, Mother Holle, Cerridwen. She is transition and transformation, acting as a bridge between the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one. We can work with Crone to assist us in transitioning from one life to the next, or from one realm to another.
The Veil between worlds is thin, an ideal time for communing with the ancestors. We cannot but think of death and dying at this time of year, as the world around us prepares for the long dark months ahead. We may find ourselves remembering our loved ones, feel their presence near. They may come to us in dreams, as a faint whispering in our ear, or an aetheric hand upon our shoulder. We can call upon the ancestors for guidance, have the conversations with loved ones we could not have while they lived, or simply sit in silence, honouring them with gratitude.
Some refer to Samahin as the Witches' New Year, a momentary pause for reflection, to give thanks for blessings received, to mourn the losses we have experienced, and to set an intent for future healing work. Samhain marks the ending of one cycle, and the beginning of a new one. We honour this time of year by reflecting on who we are, and who we wish to become.
Samhain is a time to look honestly at ourselves, to acknowledge our darkness, and to access our truth. One way to do this is through divination, as we can easily move between realms, and are more receptive to the messages of spirit. Seek out The Crone to guide you on this journey. She is here to offer Her wisdom, to direct you on the path, and to shine a light upon your true self. Crone is associated with night and darkness, the unconscious realms and shadow work, the underworld, healing, transformation and regeneration. Crone listens with Her inner ear and sees with Her inner eye, and so She is able to access Her powers of divination and prophecy. If we are receptive to Her gifts, She will share Her knowledge with us, the wisdom of the ages. On this Samhain eve, Her Sacred Magick is at its most potent.
Yule
Yule serves as a reminder that the dark times are ending, new life is emerging. We can make of this new life what we choose. It offers a promise, a promise of light's return, a promise of hope. It is the longest night of the year, a time of darkness before the sun bursts forth, and the days grow longer once more. In Norse mythology, it is known as Mother Night, when the Goddess Freya labours to give birth to the Sun God at Yule.
Yule Eve belongs to the Mother, and celebrations center around the matriarch of the family. One tradition is to clean the house in preparation of the Goddess' arrival. Family members honour Mother by helping with the chores. As family members are gathered together for this cleaning party, each can reflect on the achievements of the year past and share their hopes for the coming season.
Once the chores are out of the way, the festivities can begin. Prepare a feast using foods that are sacred to Mother Goddess. Decorate the Yule tree, hang wreaths (a symbol of the eternal cycle of life‐death‐rebirth), burn a Yule log in the hearth. Exchange gifts, a personalized gift, made with love and filled with blessings, is more precious than any store‐bought item. This is a celebration of light, and so all light sources are welcome to brighten up the dark night.

NOTE: Goddess Hera is a wonderful goddess to call on for any type of relationships, especially love and/or marriage, children, and in particular… protection from patriarchy, or any type of violence. Any kind of women's issues would be of interest to Her. If you don't have a particular petition, then you can just invoke Her to come into your life with her love and protection. She will help you with discernment in relationships and women's issues, as well as leadership and wealth.
You will need:
The pen and paper are needed to write down your petition, what you would like Hera to help and guide you with. This you will read out after you say your petition to Argive Hera (Greek), to the Romans, she was known as Juno.
Carve your candles. You may carve Hera on Her candle if you like, and your name on the candle representing yourself. If there is a positive symbol you would like to put on them, That's fine, too.
On the candle representing your petition,
carve something short like 'family', 'love', 'protection',
or a symbol representing what you are asking help with.
On the black candle, carve 'removing obstacles', that should cover everything.
Oil the candles and get everything ready before opening the Circle.
Open the Circle. Call on the Higher Powers, Elements and Four Quarters. Keep it simple, unless you already have something written out that you like to read. Light the candles. Then say the Invocation to Hera, building the energy and confidence as you read it aloud. When you are through with the invocation, read your petition, what you have written that you would like the goddess to help you with. If it is just 'issues in my life and guidance', then read that aloud.
Say this invocation three times.
Goddess Hera Invocation
Praise to Hera, Queen of the Gods!
Beautiful and courageous,
Mysterious and powerful.
Champion and mentor of women,
And protector of families.
So little is known about you
And what is known is often false,
Tales told in misogynistic spite.
Why would they say you are jealous?
You have no reason to be…
You were great before Zeus was,
Before the sky gods came.
Men sought to replace you,
And when they couldn't, to vilify.
You fight for those you care for,
Surrounding us with your strength.
Hera, beloved Queen,
You come when we call for you
Lightening up the darkness,
Giving us your good counsel.
You are as beautiful as the feathers
Of your bird, the bright peacock
And you rule wisely and well,
But carry a spear when needed!
Tell me more about you,
Let me know who you are inside;
Too much is now hidden from us,
Clouded by centuries of patriarchy.
Great Queen, we mortal women
Have need of your wisdom and insight;
Teach us how to honor you,
Join us, and give us your counsel.
Now, read the petition to Hera that you have written, aloud.
When you are through, visualize Hera smiling at you and
coming to your aid.
When you are finished with that, dismiss
the Circle, being sure to thank the Higher Powers, Elements,
Quarters, anyone that you have called on to be in your Circle.
Then go outside to ground yourself, saying, "So Mote It Be!" and feel what you requested going to the ethers, to manifest.
When the candles have burned down, dispose of them in your regular way.

Note from author: This is a story/guided meditation to use as part of a Beltane Circle. The background of the story is that the listener has been walking the Wheel of the Year. For the guided meditation, the facilitator reads the story, asking the listeners to close their eyes, and really embed themselves in the story. At the end of the meditation, each listener should know what message has come to them from the Goddess.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
As you walk south the air grows warmer and warmer, and the trees and bushes more lush. You notice the blackberries are budding, though the fruit is not yet ripe. The bees buzz happily in the blossoms. You feel a bit giddy and buzz a bit at the bees to see if you can initiate a conversation. They ignore you. You know there is a small settlement ahead, and as it comes into view it is clear a party is going on.
It looks like everyone is outdoors, bustling about. People are calling to one another jokingly. Children and puppies run and tumble on the lawn. Big plank tables with benches are set up all around three beautiful old apple trees. Ribbons and sparkly banners hang from the trees. You realize you know a lot of these people, they are friends of yours! Some people you know are dancing a circle dance, two of them spot you and motion you over. Amazed, you run to the circle, take off your shoes and join in. The words are simple:
Let us show our gratitude today,
For this merry, merry month of May.
For our Gracious Goddess grants,
All this beauty that enchants,
After the dance you collapse to the ground on a blanket with two friends, another brings you a big mug of apple cider. You catch up on your lives. Around you people are playing games, eating, talking, laughing. You look around at all the fun and your heart swells with joy. You notice a figure dancing on a little hillock not far from you, two drummers playing nearby. It is a woman, and she looks familiar. You get up and walk toward her to see if she is another friend.
The woman turns toward you. She is short, and plump, with shiny brown skin and black ringlets tossing around her head as she moves to the music. She has on a small stretchy top, and her full breasts threaten to overflow it. A red sarong is tied around her rounded belly and hips, and she has tinkly ankle bracelets on both ankles. She catches your eye, and her white teeth are a striking contrast to her glistening cocoa skin as she smiles at you. She gestures to the drummers and shimmies to a stop, the drummers flourishing. She calls to you "My dear! I am so glad you got here in time for my May Day party. Let's hear it for that idea about all acts of pleasure being my rites! Come here, come see me." You know her now, she is the May Queen, the lady of love. You smile at her, walk to her, and she takes your hand. "Come see something really cool," she says to you, and takes off over the hillock.
On the other side there is shade, lovely tall blossoming bushes, and a small welling pool. The May Queen walks with you to this pool and says "Sit. Sit." She sits beside you and dabbles her toes in the water. She smells like coconut oil and sunshine. She leans forward and whispers in your ear "The pool will show you something you want to know. Just look. Just look." Her breath smells like cloves and butterscotch. She points to a path on the other side of the pool and says "When you have seen what you need to see, continue on south." She blows you a little kiss, then gets up and sashays up the hill, rolling her plump hips.
You turn and gaze into the water. The water seems to tremble, and then clear. You look a long time. Finally, you move from the water and turn toward the southern trail.

Either indoors or outdoors draw your circle wide and make sure you have everything with you.
Dip the Birch branches into the spring water and cleanse the area.
If you are experienced in shamanic journeying you can drum ‐ if you cannot, play a recording of shamanic drums. They usually have a tone that takes you back from your journey at the end.
Walk around the circle, dance and chant if you like ‐ be playful and open ☺
Move faster and swirl around if you like, and, when you feel tired, lay down and close your eyes.
Feel the warmth of a sunny day and the sounds and scents of a meadow.
You are protected, you are loved and fillled with bliss… Now let your imagination take over,
be open to whom or what you meet on your journey…
After the journey meditate over what you experienced and write down on the ribbons what you wish to manifest.
Hold them in your hand and give it power (like food for the seeds to grow…)
Inscribe your wishes on the green candle.
You may write the wishes or create sigils representing the wish.
To create a sigil, write the wish down and take out all double letters until you have only single letters remaining.
Now write them together in a way that you cannot tell the letters anymore and put a frame around it.
Hold the ribbon and the candle in your hands and raise energy.
Feel how the energy moves to your hands, into the sigils and then activates them.
Give thanks and open the circle .
Now it's time to celebrate and have some of the georgous May punch…
Bind the ribbons to a tree on your balcony garden or a park, forest ‐ whatever works for you where you live ‐ if there is no tree you can bind them on a wooden staff ☺
Burn the candle every day/night until the next full moon . You can cut small lines into the candle so that it makes 7 parts ‐ the last one will burn to the end on the 7th of May.

Definition of a Spell:
During ritual practices, which are often staged in a sacred circle, Witches cast spells or "workings" intended to bring about real changes in the physical world. Common spells include those used for healing, for protection, fertility, or to banish negative influences.
A spell therefore is a magickal working with a very specific intent. And it needs to be very specific so as not to cause something to happen that you did not intend. No loopholes! Think everything out very carefully.
Many believe a spell written in rhyme is more powerful than one that is not. And that a spell written by you is more powerful than a spell from a spell book. Go ahead and look up examples of the kind of spell you need. But use them as a pattern, a starting point, in writing your own spell. In this way you can tailor the spell to be exactly what you need.
A spell performed by you for you is more powerful than a spell performed for you by someone else.
Before any magickal working you should always ground and center. Prepare yourself for the work you are about to do.
You may wish to cast a circle for protection while you are doing a magickal working. This is purely up to you. It is your choice to cast or not to cast. If you do cast a circle, don't forget to take down that circle when you are done.
When doing a spell, you must never interfere with anyone's free will. Love spells are a good illustration. It is OK to work a spell to draw love into your life. It is not OK to cast a spell on a specific person to love you.
Casting a spell on another person removes their free will, their ability to choose. It takes away some of their personal freedom. How would you feel if someone took away some of your freedom? And not only that, but do you really want to force someone to love you? Of course not. You want them to love you of their own free will, in order for it to be real. In addition, the Universe knows best who will be good for you, so take advantage of that.
In spellwork remember the Rede, "An' it harm none, do what you will."

Lake Baikal, in Siberia, was formed 50 million years ago, as a rift between tectonic plates in the earthquake prone region. It is considered to be the oldest existing lake in the world, and it is also the deepest. It is the seventh largest lake holding an estimated 20% of the world's unfrozen fresh water. Although the lake is fed by more than 300 rivers, it only flows out of one, the Angara.
The lake is known not only for its size, but its remarkably crystal‐clear water, due to the filtering sponges which reside in its depths. This unique feature helps keep the water pristine as many of the rivers flowing into the lake are polluted by factories and pulp mills. Lake Baikal is also home to a large variety of species found nowhere else on earth, and this has earned it the nickname "The Galapagos of Russia". Baikal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 as a means of protecting the fragile biodiversity. Nature Preserves surround the lake and filtration systems along some of the rivers have helped to prevent contamination from pulp mills and factories. Because the lake is so life‐giving, legend has it that if you dip your hands into the lake, you will be rewarded with an extra year of life. Dip your feet, and you get two extra years. Dunking your head into the lake will grant you five more years, and full submersion will extend your life by 25 years.
Russian colonists called it the 'Holy Sea' for the many local legends of gods who dwell there.
Mysteries and Legends
The Pearl of Siberia gets its name from the local indigenous population, the Buryats, who called it Baygal nuur (natural lake). One Buryat legend says that once, long ago, a great earthquake occurred, releasing a raging fire which devoured everything in its path. The people prayed to the gods, begging for mercy, but the gods did not respond. In despair, people cried, Bay gal! (Fire stop!). Suddenly, the fire died away, and the rift was filled by clear water.
Another legend relates the story of a wealthy and powerful warrior named Baikal who had a beautiful daughter, Angara. Baikal forbade his daughter to see young men. He locked her up and went in search of a proper husband for her. Angara was rescued by a handsome man named Yenisei and they ran away together. The father, in his anger, picked up a huge boulder and hurled it toward the lovers. It became known as Shaman Rock. The heartbroken father's tears created a lake, and the Angara became the only river that flowed from the lake, like a girl running away to be with her beloved.
A third legend says that one day, at sunset, a fiery dragon came. Its tail smashed down, cracking open the earth. The dragon's breath melted the snow and ice of the nearby mountains. The melt water then filled the crack to become Lake Baikal. Flowers and trees sprouted everywhere, animals appeared, and the dragon itself dived into the depths of the water and went to sleep. Every 120 years the dragon would emerge from the lake, and people would greet him with festivities. But, one year, the people forgot, and, in his wrath, the dragon flooded everything with water. The Buryat people called this creature Lusud‐Khan or Usan‐Lobson Khan, which translate to "Water Dragon Master". Petroglyphs along the shores of the lake, dating back to the 9th century BCE depict a mysterious water monster. Sightings of the creature continue to this day, with reports of large dark shapes breaking the surface of the lake, or swimming its depths.
Another phenomenon on Lake Baikal is the reports of vessels mysteriously vanishing in its waters. One area, known as Cape Ryty, has experienced so many reported vanishings that the locals consider it to be cursed. It is believed that whirlpools suddenly appear, swallowing up whatever is on the surface. These were considered the gateways to hell, giving the area the name "Devil's Crater".
There are some who have witnessed the shapes of horsemen in the fog, riding straight toward people and then suddenly disappearing. Locals believe it is the remains of an army who attempted to cross the frozen lake to attack their rivals. The ice cracked beneath them and the soldiers perished. To this day, the lost souls continue trying to make the crossing. Others claim to have witnessed ships, trains, and castles suddenly materializing on the lake and disappearing again just as quickly. These mirages may be due to the unique properties of the water, combined with the layers of air and mists. They are sometimes accompanied by anomalous magnetic disturbances, which may be responsible for some of the disappearances that have occurred in the area. Tales like these definitely add to the mystery of Baikal.
Olkhon Island and Shaman Rock
Olkhon Island is considered sacred to the Buryat people of the area. Adjacent to the Island lies Shaman Rock, which consists of two massive boulders jutting out from the lake. This part of the island is a sacred place for shamanic rituals. It is known for its "obos", tree trunks festooned with ribbons of every colour (except black which is the colour of death). Strewn upon the ground beneath the obos are ritual offerings. The Buryats continue to strictly adhere to the traditions and customs of their ancestors. There is a long‐held belief that it is bad luck for some women to set foot on the island or participate in ceremonies.
In general, women enjoyed respect, freedom, and honour within the Buryat community. One saying goes: "The harvest depends on the year, the happiness of a woman ‐ on her age". Female Elders were the most revered in the community, they were the keepers of traditions, performed many of the rituals, and produced ritual objects used in ceremonies. However, women who were able to bear children were considered 'unclean', and therefore prohibited from attending certain rituals, they were not allowed to touch ritual objects or clothing. We see similar prohibitions within indigenous cultures around the world. A First Nations Grandmother once explained to me that it wasn't that women were considered unclean, but that their power was incredibly potent, especially when bleeding, and may affect the energies attached to ritual objects. I prefer the latter explanation, but that may be my personal bias showing.
The Goddess Yazhima
There is evidence that Buddhism was introduced to Siberia as early as the 8th century. Tibetan Buddhism spread to the Baikal area through nearby Mongolia (the infamous Mongolian warleader Chinggis Khan was born near Lake Baikal). Datsans and temples are prominent across Siberia and Baikal is no exception. In the small village of Yarikta, on the shores of Lake Baikal, a Buddhist Temple was established at the beginning of the 20th century. The Temple is dedicated to Yanzhima (Saraswati), the Goddess of prosperity, wisdom, music, poetry, art, innocence, and the creation of everything new.
One particular stone in the Temple became the focus of worship when, in 2005, the image of the Goddess appeared. Her image on the stone looks different to different people. Those who come to pay homage may perceive Her as dancing or playing guitar, some see Her in a car or seated upon a horse or a tiger. There are many stories of infertile couples who come to pray to Her and are soon able to conceive a child. Yanzhima's birthday is a Lunar festival, celebrated in May. On this day, hundreds of pilgrims gather to pray, enjoy concerts, sporting games and a fair.
Babushka of Baikal
Lyubov Morekhodova was born on the shores of Lake Baikal. A former engineer, she returned to the place of her birth when she retired. When her husband died, she continued to live there, alone, with her beloved animals, dogs, cats, chickens and cows. Though she is nearly 80, she continues to care for her animals, every day, waking up at 5:30 am to feed them and let the cows out to graze on the nearby hills. She hikes down to the lake several times each day to collect buckets of water for her and her animals. She is also very talented in traditional skills such as embroidery, macramé:, and weaving.
But the thing she is most well‐known for is her ice skating. Lake Baikal remains frozen for much of the year. When this occurs, Lyubov dons the skates her father made for her in 1943. She skates the lake to check on her cows, to pick up supplies in the nearby village, or simply for the joy of it. It is not surprising that her name translates as Love The One Who Walks on Sea
Of Lake Baikal Lyubov says: "It gives me happiness, a good mood, and then I always think, if anybody sat next to me, they'd say: What a beauty, what incredible beauty." Ancient, awe‐inspiring, remote, beautiful, all of these words fit Siberia's Lake Baikal perfectly. There is certainly no other place like it on Earth.

Beltane & Litha 2020 World Tarot Reading
As we step into the month of May in the Northern Hemisphere, we really feel the warm rays of the Spring Sun and the gentle breeze breathe life into our surroundings. The plants and the creatures are not suspended in time, like humans this year. We have been put in a time‐out by our Mother Earth so that we can observe what we have been taking for granted. This time‐out is a lesson in disguise, an opportunity to recreate cleaner routines in everyone's lives that would allow us to strive, not just survive.
For cooperation to sail smoothly on our planet, we need to realize that we should have at least some main common goals for humanity. We also need to be reminded of these goals regularly. This is why it is good to have a morning ritual to re‐align ourselves. Beltane and Litha are the perfect times to start practicing some form of Morning Self‐Talk, or spicing up an old routine, as you and your family wake up with the Sun, stronger and stronger every day. The following are suggestions of possible goals for this Beltane and Litha Seasons of 2020. I have used the Millennium Thoth Tarot deck by Renata Lechner in a 6‐card pyramid spread on Golden Tarot App by Tina Gong.
What is our purpose for the rest of Spring & the Summer Solstice?
Queen of Swords: Keep a clear mind.
We are immensely complex human beings and we sometimes forget that we can mistakenly be seen as cold‐hearted for trying to be sharp and witty. The opposite is also very common, we can take other's light‐hearted words too seriously and use them against ourselves. We are forgetting just how much weight words carry and end up hurting those around us. We are used to blurting out our feelings instead of analyzing and organizing our thoughts. If we can master patient communication during these rough times, the prosperity it will bring to us will last for generations. Speak only the truth and ignore the lies, especially the ones we tell ourselves.
What pushes us to do what we do every day? What inspires us to do our best?
Queen of Wands: Courage.
Stay determined in your own personal growth. One day at a time, one task at a time, enjoy the process. Stand up to adversity and you will inspire those around you to do the same.
What is our role?
XI Lust, Reversed: Tame the Power.
Patiently Speaking the Truth and Having Courage to stand up for others takes a lot of responsibility, it is true. The way in which we deliver our values and beliefs to others needs to be considerate. Behavior is everything and we're all being put under a microscope. Stay calm when discussing injustices. State Facts. Back up your beliefs with research.
What are the potential rewards?
7 of Pentacles: Perseverance.
Even though we have done an immense amount of work, it is now a time of focus and diligence before one can reap the rewards. It's not a time to turn back and doubt ourselves. We just need to sustain our projects with deliberate actions so that they can fully crystallize. What is our environment like? 9 of Wands: Resilience. We are very close to achieving a victory after a time of battle and hard work. There is only a small way to go before we reach the goal. After this last push, we will be soaring. Try to release some burdens you may be holding onto unknowingly to let the strength you gained from letting go carry you through to the end.
What is a possible future that is coming from all of this?
4 of Swords: Rest.
In order to move forward and rejoin life after this heavy period, we must pause and look within. We will have gained many tools and hopefully a healthier mental change.

Blessings to you all Dearest Ones
During these uncertain times, a strong spiritual practice is a valuable asset, one that can help us remain grounded and centered amidst the chaos and collective trauma we are all experiencing. I am grateful for the support and love I receive from my OWM Sisters. The Order provides its Members with a safe and sacred space, online, within which we can check in on each other, where we can vent, debrief, grieve, where we can share stories or ideas, where we can inspire and love and witness each other.
Our White Moon lessons teach women how to lay a strong foundation for their practice, and this, in turn, may help them become better able to manage and respond to the emotional and mental stress that has now become an ingrained part of our lives. We are all going through the emotional roller coaster of fear, anger, panic and denial, distraction and boredom, acceptance and, yes, even moments of joy and mirth. Navigating through these feelings, sitting with them, expressing them, are all vital and necessary on the path toward collective healing.
For those who are not currently Sisters of the Order but would like to feel supported, we encourage you to visit OWM's website and submit a Prayer Request. This Public Outreach program is one of the ways that OWM gives back to the community. We offer prayers, distance healing, and loving support to members of public.
Muriel, of The Sisters of the Rising Moon, has completed Level I of the White Moon Studies and is now an Initiate! You may see her wonderful project on Goddess Artio
Crystal Fire, of Dark Moon's Heart, completed Level II of our White Moon studies to become an Adept in the Order. You can see her wonderful Final Project on Goddess Amunet

In February, we were saddened to hear of the passing of one of our own dear Sisters, HP Moonwater Ashwood.
Moonwater's compassion touched all who knew her, and she was a dedicated Sister during her time in the Order.
She was a prolific author, writing poetry, fiction and non‐fiction books.
She will always be our Sister in Goddess.
Below are a few of her poems.
I saw a beautiful lady
Dangling her feet in the river,
Cleansing the water that
Brushed past her skin.
"Who are you dear lady?"
I finally asked. She smiled
And replied, "Do you not
Recognize me child? I am
The life‐blood of the land."
I saw a beautiful mother
Playing happily with her child,
Spreading love and joy to
All who laid eyes upon them.
"Who are you lovely mother?"
I finally asked. She smiled
And replied, "Do you not
Recognize me child? I am the
Protector of all the world's children."
I saw a beautiful queen
Sitting humbly on the temple steps,
Smiling at all who passed, waiting patiently.
"Your majesty, for whom do you wait?"
I finally asked. She smiled
And replied, "Why, I wait for you
Dear child to return to me. You
Do know me, do you not?" At that
Moment I did know who sat before
Me, and replied with a bow,
"Yes, my lady. You are She who
Has a Thousand Names, Mother of All,
Mistress of Magick, Protector and
Queen of the Heavens, Land and Sea.
Blessed Isis, Bride of Osiris,
Mother of Horus, Daughter of Ra,
How may I serve thee?" Laughter
Like bird's song floated upon the air
And she wrapped her winged arms
Around me, whispering in my ear,
"You already do, my child.
Every time you bring joy to another,
Every time you offer healing to the ill,
Every time you bring light to a child,
Every time you sow a seed,
Every time you tend a plant,
You serve me in all these ways."
I bowed my head once more in
Thanks, yet when I arose she
Had departed, leaving but a feather
At my feet as a reminder.

I shall count the days
Beloved, till I see
Your smiling eyes
Surveying my body.
I shall count the hours
Beloved, till I hear
Your soft voice
Whisper in my ear.
I shall count the minutes
Beloved, till I smell
Your scent surrounding
Me, overpowering me.
I shall count the seconds
Beloved, till I taste
Your lips, feasting
On you hungrily.
I have longed for you,
Beloved, for your
Passion to ignite with
Mine once more.
Yet we have little
More to wait now
Beloved, and I shall
So enjoy each breath!

Fare thee well, my darling one,
Wherever you may roam.
Know always that my thoughts
Are with you; you're never alone.
Though you've left our house
And shall return not again,
Your memory will warm me
Every time the cold rain
Falls upon my face, as
If the gods cry for you too.
My darling little soldier boy
I shall always love you.
May you find the peace
You fought so hard for
Among the angels; may
Your love truly soar!
Fare thee well, my darling one,
Wherever you roam now,
And know that I shall find you
Again, though I know not how.

The Goddess Speaks to Her Daughters
Hear the words of the Goddess,
To all her daughters. Fear not, Child;
For I am with you as you turn toward womanhood,
The time of menarche, the time of blossoming.
You reflect the radiant beauty of the Maiden.
Dressed in pale colors or white
And with flowers in your hair;
With your sweet smile and dancing step,
You know that all of life is before you.
You are to be Celebrated.
Fear not, Young woman;
For I am with you as you blossom into your full sexuality,
Learning the joys of love and sex,
And the mysteries of childbirth.
You reflect the mature beauty of the Mother.
Dressed in bright colors,
And with your head held high;
You are experiencing the knowledge of life.
You are to be Honored.
Fear not, Elderly woman;
For I am with you as you turn to old age,
Into the WiseWoman.
Your blood stays inside your body and turns into Wisdom;
You are a help to others with guidance and healings.
You reflect the wisdom and magic of the Crone.
You have the serenity of a life well‐lived,
And the knowledge that you will join your loved ones
In the Afterlife, before you are reborn.
You are to be Revered.
Come, my Daughters!
Dance with me,
For you also are Goddess.

It's so much easier to hide
Than to put even my tippy toes
Back into the deep waters
Of hidden emotions.
Instead, I will wrap myself
In my thick robe and hood,
Like a baby bundled
Into a hooded blanket.
Sometimes I try to nurture myself
By hiding away in a dark den
Like a hibernating bear,
(But at least I have a shower).
Sometimes rain is like a cocoon
And I feel safe and warm indoors;
It's cleansing my home, a Circle
Where no one can harm me.
The grasses will be shooting up
From their drink of the rain,
And before they are mowed down
There will be little mushrooms;
Mushrooms for tiny fairies
To shelter under like umbrellas
As they hold hands and laugh,
Dancing in and out of the rain.

In the tall sweet grass
And the warm rays of sun
My eyes closed and the breeze soft
I feel you
The safety and promise of life from your light
I feel you
My toes dig deep into the earth
Grounded one with the dirt
I feel you
Watching you set, I still feel your warmth
Rising in the night sky, bright white and smiling
Mother
I see you
You fill my head with beautiful dreams and songs
You make my body move to the rhythm of the swaying reeds
Breathing deep I smile back
I see you
The union of the sun and moon
I feel the balance
I see clearly my heart's desires
I smell the earth's sweet scent
I taste the sweetness of her bounty
I know the love and blessings of the goddess
Laying down with a long deep breath
I thank you

One night a knock upon my door,
A tired woman there.
I beckoned her to enter
And rest upon my chair.
Though dusty, she was regal,
A lady I could see.
I wondered why she stopped here
To see a peasant such as me.
I offered her a glass of wine,
Inside I felt so sad
Though the drink was poor, it was
The very best I had.
She swirled the wine and watched it splash
She sniffed its weak bouquet
Then tasted it and smiled and said
It took her thirst away.
I gave her of my meager food,
A thin soup with no bread.
She smiled and ate it eagerly,
Then this is what she said:
You welcomed me into your home
And though your means are poor,
You shared with me all that you had,
No one has given me more.
May you never want for anything
And may your life be blessed
For on this moonlit night you had
The Goddess as your guest!
She pointed out the window
Where the moon was shining down
And when I turned to thank her,
My visitor was gone.
Never will I forget the night
The Goddess came to me.
Never will I ever doubt
How special I must be!

We are part of the Earth,
And She is a part of us.
We are linked together
In the spiral dance of life!
Earth around us, Earth among us, Earth within us!
Earth around us, Earth among us, Earth within us!
Not living upon the Earth,
But part of Her we are.
We are joined together
In the joyous dance of life!
Earth around us, Earth among us, Earth within us!
Earth around us, Earth among us, Earth within us!

Silver moonbeams shining down,
Goddess‐shadows on the ground!
Shining down for all to see,
Shines for you and shines for me.
No matter we are not the same,
Not in looks and not in name.
She cares not for our different ways,
But gives us love for all our days.
She, the example we should heed,
The way to be in word and deed.
Shade of skin, be dark or fair,
Shape of eye or color of hair
Matter not a whit to She
Who holds the way that we should be.
We are not perfect, we may fail,
But keep on trying to prevail.
Many a culture and tradition,
But each of us should have the mission
To love each other pure and true.
As She shows us, we should do.
Share love with every living thing.
Skin, fin, fur or feathered wing.
And keep on loving, though we fall.
May the Goddess smile upon us all.

One of my favorite simple recipes for spring and summer celebrations! Kids love to help and it's easy enough for the family to do together.
Mix nuts, flour, sugar, lemon zest and extract until thoroughly combined.
Work in butter and yolks until blended. Chill dough.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Pinch pieces of dough about the size of a half dollar and shape into crescents.
Place on greased sheet and bake for 20 mins.
Once cooked thoroughly you can roll them in some extra lemon Zest and sugar.
*This recipe is also great with added lavender buds

I use this recipe every year for Beltane. It's one of the first ingredients I can gather from my spring garden. I don't really measure too much, but I included some for others who prefer measurements.
Blanch asparagus in salted water for about 3 minutes until crisp. Then run asparagus under cool water. Heat olive oil and add the sesame seeds on low heat for 1 minute. Next add chives, blossoms flowers, asparagus, soy sauce and salt and pepper and yes… you can eat the flowers. Enjoy!
Below is a picture of this cooking on my stove. The colors are always beautiful and a great way to honor the Goddess Brigid

I like to purchase corn on the cob from a local farm when it's come into season. I then strip the kernels off the cob, season with some garlic salt, pepper and roast for about 25 minutes.
Add 1 stick of butter in pot, add chopped up carrots, onion, garlic and celery. Sauté this for about 5 minutes.
While this is sautéing, add your chopped up red pepper to a food processor and grind it all up. Then add the red pepper, roasted corn, 3 cups of milk and vegetable broth to the pot.
Bring to a boil. Top with salt, pepper, and fresh thyme.
The amount of veggies and broth you add is really dependent on how much chowder you want to make.

Back when I was still trying to be normal (hint: it didn't work), I was an elementary school teacher. I taught third through fifth grades and used this activity with all of them. This works best if you can obtain multiple copies of the same book. If this is purely for your family, you can even photocopy the pages so that each person has his or her own copy. You can get together via Skype or some other platform if your actors aren't hunkering down with you.
This works best if you have several family members willing to participate. Don't leave out any grown‐ups who might want to join in. Basically, you all read a chapter of a favorite book you have agreed upon, all the while making a list of the characters who speak. Don't forget the narrator, who will read all the non‐speaking parts! As you progress through the book, more characters may appear. It is fine for readers to play more than one part.
There are many ways to decide who will play which character. The easiest may be to let each person choose. Don't feel limited to boys playing boys or girls playing girls. You can learn a lot by playing the 'other'. If too many people want the same character, here are two alternatives:
Get as elaborate as you like. Props? Costumes? Makeup? Sure, why not? But you can just keep it simple. In acting, this is called Reader's Theater. The budding actors in your family (or simply those with an inner ham) will enjoy emoting all over the place. You may discover dramatic depths in your shyest, quietest children; as well as in yourself!
The most important thing about this activity is that you will laugh and maybe cry together. You will connect in a different way. But it also improves reading in the following ways:
Please note that this can be done with picture books, as well. Any book with vivid characters will do. Since we are quite a magical group, I'll list a few of my favorite authors below. Some are British, so it may take a while for their books to arrive, but I can assure you, they are worth the wait!
Tylluan Penry, a Welsh pagan witch with her own publishing company: Wolfenhowle Press. I plan to read Keeper of the Scales and Guardian of the Gateway with my granddaughter when she's old enough. ☺
Tomie de Paola, especially Alice Nizzy Nazzy, the Witch of Santa Fe and Strega Nona.
Phil and Jacqui Lovesey, who have created a trilogy about the utterly magical world of Matlock the Hare. https://www.matlockthehare.com/books
Roald Dahl, J.K. Rowling, and Mary Pope Osborne (of The Magic Treehouse series). I'm sure I've forgotten some, but these will give you a good start.
I would love to hear about your experiences if you try this.

Beltane celebrates union, whether it's love with another, or self‐love, the sensuality and sexuality can bring an abundance of joy. All acts of love and pleasure are Her rituals. Seek out ways to create your own bliss and celebrate with your own fiery passion.
